Job summary

The UNC Charlotte Urban Institute is recruiting a position to coordinate Gambrell-funded initiatives through the Urban Institute, including managing Faculty & Student Fellows programs and translating applied research for community partners.

The role involves conducting community-based social science research, engaging stakeholders, planning projects, and producing publications and data visualizations for local organizations across the Charlotte region.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social sciences or related field
• Experience conducting social science research projects
• Experience with community partnerships and engagement
• Experience with data collection/ management and analysis
• Familiarity with large databases (Census, ACS)
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proficiency in SAS, R, or STATA for program evaluation

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Gambrell-funded initiatives and manage Faculty & Student Fellows programs
• Conduct day-to-day activities for UI research projects including design, data collection, analysis and visualization
• Prepare publications, reports, and data visualizations for stakeholders
