Job summary

University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Research Associate in the Pathology Research B department to provide comprehensive research and lab support. Responsibilities include handling tissue samples, data analysis, protocol development, and coordination of budget and safety oversight.

The role requires a BS in a related field and four years of histology experience, plus proficiency in MS Office and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in biology, chemistry, immunology, or related field PLUS four years of research experience in a histology laboratory or medical/laboratory facility.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and administers research experiments; processes human and animal specimens; embeds and sections FFPE and frozen samples.
• Analyzes data, interprets results, and refines scientific protocols as needed.
• Develops protocols, collects and analyzes data, and writes project reports.
• Oversees laboratory operations, audits, orders supplies, and manages budgetary oversight.
• Trains junior staff and ensures safety and compliance with IRB protocols.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
