The Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Michigan is seeking a Research Associate in computational design and digital fabrication. The role focuses on robotic 3D printing processes for concrete and clay, working in the FabLab on full-scale projects and collecting performance data.

Based in Ann Arbor, the position is onsite with a typical daytime schedule, Monday through Friday, for a term-limited one-year appointment.

Formación

• Master’s degree in architecture, concrete and clay 3D printing research, robotic programming, or related field.
• Proficiency with Rhino, Grasshopper, and Adobe suite for design and media tasks.
• Experience with performance testing and data capture at bench or assembly scales.
• Experience integrating design with performance-based computational analysis.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct experimental research on 3D printing and climate-based research.
• Conduct experiments for performance data capture, analyze data, and iterate prototyping processes.
• Prepare presentations, graphics, diagrams, videos, and reports.
• Apply research skills for literature review, writing, and design work.
