The Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute in collaboration with the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania seeks a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. The successful applicant will work on mouse models of disease focusing on metabolism, cancer biology, biochemistry, and computation.

The Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute in collaboration with the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of mouse models of disease, metabolism, cancer biology, biochemistry, and computational approaches. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Responsibilities may include investigation of Urea Cycle Disorders, obesity, and liver cancer.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to contribute to the development of potential new treatments for obesity and dietary interventions of Urea Cycle Disorders while further developing critical thinking skills, gaining expertise in relevant literature and experimental techniques, preparing manuscripts and extramural funding proposals, presenting research at international meetings, mentoring junior scientists, and participating in University-sponsored career development workshops.

Candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years postdoctoral experience.
