Responsibilities

  • Designs and oversees complex multidisciplinary research projects from start to finish.
  • Collaborates with Principal Investigator to define research goals and methods.
  • Solves methodological and procedural problems through designed approaches.
  • Plans supplies and equipment to ensure smooth lab operation and budgets.
  • Analyzes data, evaluates data collection methods, and ensures data integrity.
  • Coordinates lab renovations with Facilities, Health & Safety, and Purchasing.
  • Prepares scientific reports for proposals and publications.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.

Overview

The Coordinator 4, Research Res Support, provides professional support and guidance to faculty and staff, managing initiatives that foster university growth through large, complex multidisciplinary projects. Responsibilities include overseeing study start-up, recruitment, data collection, regulatory submissions, and compliance. The coordinator manages clinical trials, collaborates with various stakeholders, ensures data accuracy, facilitates communications, and participates in project design and implementation. Additionally, they train and coordinate the research team, handle patient interactions, and maintain adherence to all regulatory and institutional standards. The role requires close collaboration with researchers, administrative support, and participation in research meetings and manuscript preparation.

Required Skills And Abilities
  • Proven experience in a research or clinical setting, including conducting and supporting clinical trials. Proven experience with Patient recruitment and obtaining informed consent. Proven experience with IRB Submissions.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in different stages of development with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of participants, team members, and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records, data abstraction, and clinical trial management systems.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills.
Preferred Skills And Abilities
  • Knowledge of clinical research regulatory requirements and electronic medical record systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as biology or health sciences. Proven experience working in or supporting an oncology department.
  • Proven experience with data collection and management, including proficiency with tools like REDCap.
  • Clinical Coordinator Certification (SoCRA or equivalent) and Willingness to travel to clinical sites where the investigator sees patients and performs surgeries.
Principal Responsibilities
  • Designs, plans, implements and evaluates complex multifaceted research projects/systems, including method development, adaptation and validation. 2. Collaborates with PI to define research endeavors and the development of research hypothesis and approach. 3. Solves complex methodology, protocol, procedural and research problems through design of techniques, procedures and policies that will achieve research goals. 4. Develops long range plans for supplies and equipment to ensure smooth operation of laboratory. 5. Investigates, analyzes and evaluates complex data, data collection systems and methods to reach scientific conclusions and ensures the integrity of research data. 6. Collaborates with PI to coordinate major lab renovations working with Facilities, Health and Safety, and Purchasing to ensure deadlines, safety standards and purchases are according to plans and within budgets. 7. Prepares scientific reports and papers for research proposals and published reports. 8. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Master’s Degree in a scientific discipline and three years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
