Job Title: Research Associate

Division: Molecular and Human Genetics

Work Arrangement: Remote

Location: Remote

Salary Range: Hiring up to $72,000

FLSA Status: Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Summary

The Research Associate will be responsible for developing and implementing machine learning algorithms to analyze genomes and predict disease risk in complex diseases. This role involves building Python-based pipelines, analyzing whole genome sequencing and proteomic data, and preparing manuscripts that bridge physics and biology.

Job Duties

• Assist with various research projects, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations based on their research findings.
• Collaborate closely with team members, including principal investigators, postdoctoral fellows, and other research staff, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety guidelines, including those related to the handling of hazardous materials.
• Train and mentor junior staff and students.
• Manage and organize research data to ensure its accuracy and integrity, and contributing to the writing and editing of scientific manuscripts for publication.
• Attend and participate in research meetings, seminars, and conferences to stay updated on the latest developments in their field.
• Organize and ensure the accuracy and integrity of research data, preparing reports and presentations, and contributing to scientific manuscripts.
• Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree in Basic Science or a related field. Experience in lieu of degree will not be accepted.
• Three years of relevant experience typically as a Research Assistant, Research Technician or Postdoctoral Fellow/Associate.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in developing and implementing machine learning algorithms, analyzing genomic data, and preparing scientific manuscripts
• Proficiency in Python, experience with genomic data analysis, and strong analytical skills
