Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is recruiting for an MD in internal medicine with fellowship training in Adult Hematology/Oncology to advance in an academic clinical role. The position supports clinical care, teaching, and high-impact research, with a pathway toward a faculty appointment.

Compensation includes a broad benefits package, with salary tied to experience and qualifications; H‑1B sponsorship is limited. The base salary ranges from $80,172 to $149,968 annually.

Qualifications

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: MD in internal medicine or foreign equivalent.
  • Completion of ACGME Fellowship in Adult Hematology/Oncology.
  • American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) eligibility or certification in Adult Hematology/Oncology at time of position start.

Responsibilities

  • Shadow physicians in clinical activities to support transition to faculty role.
  • If applicable, provide direct clinical care as part of specialty care team.
  • Engage with laboratory and/or clinical research faculty mentors and staff to contribute to existing research portfolios.
  • Gain knowledge and skills to initiate original research projects with support from faculty mentors.
  • Disseminate research output in peer‑reviewed scientific journals and conferences.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $80,172 to $149,968, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H‑1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H‑1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
