Job Description
Under general supervision, responsible for performing technical or narrative research by designing, modifying and collaborating with primary investigator regarding protocol and methodology of research topics.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design and implement research experiments according to established protocols to assure high quality scientific results in support of project goals.
- Conduct experiments and studies and assess outcome; adapt continued studies based on the organization of findings.
- Present data in organized, readable formats including written reports and graphical summaries; account for relevant supplies and order them as needed and other activities related to each project.
- Conduct library and topical research pertinent to projects.
- Write and prepare final papers to support findings; submit evidence for publication.
- Assure compliance with institutional policies, rules and regulations to meet federal, state and local standards and codes pertaining to safety and ethics.
- Maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio infrastructure per Texas EO‑GA‑48.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor important and complex projects concurrently.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes/other email software.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, including writing and preparing memorandums, letters, and other official correspondence.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in a specialized field of study is required.

- Four (4) years of experience is required.

- Medical – UT SELECT Medical insurance is offered free for employees and administered by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas. Family members can be added to the plan through payroll deduction. Employees and their dependents can also receive discounted copays and coinsurance when using UT Health Physicians, a network of 800 physicians including specialists. - Retirement – Employees are eligible for either the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) or the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP). TRS is a defined benefit retirement plan which UT Health matches employee contributions. ORP is for eligible faculty staff employees. Voluntary retirement programs are also available to invest before‑ or after‑tax dollars with the choice of five quality retirement plan providers.
- Time Off – A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options: front‑loaded Paid Time Off, extended illness bank, paid family leave, and holidays. Employees who work at least 20 hours a week and have an appointment of at least 4.5 months are eligible for benefits.
