Job summary

A national recruiting company is seeking a Research Associate located in Pearl River, NY for an 18+ month assignment. The role involves receiving and QCing samples, performing histological tasks, maintaining lab equipment, and acting as a liaison for various groups.   • Maintain lab equipment by coordinating service.
  • Act as a liaison for the In Vivo Pharmacology group.
  • Enter experimental data into lab databases.
  • Work with student workers to organize and inventory blocks.

Job Description

Title: Research Associate

Duration: 18+ Months

Location: Pearl River, NY

  • Receive (physically and electronically) & QC the incoming pipeline of samples
  • Trimming, process and embed all blocks that come into the lab
  • Section and H&E stain samples for several lab initiatives, as independent projects to work on with hiring manager
  • Perform routine IHC of established panels of markers for several initiatives. Subsequently, work with the hiring manager and lab scientists to interpret the data and report to the relevant teams
  • Section blocks, coverslip slides and perform other supportive tasks for the program scientists in the lab
  • Order, receive and organize lab supplies
  • Maintain lab equipment (call vendors for service etc)
  • Act as a liaison for the In Vivo Pharmacology group
  • Enter experimental data into the lab databases
  • Work with student workers to organize and inventory blocks
Qualifications
  • The candidate must have worked in the research setting for minimum 3-5 years and prior histology experience is required
