Summary of Job Duties:

The Research Assistant is responsible for research data collection and compilation; statistic analysis; academic literature collection and review. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• The formal education equivalent of a Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency with statistical software, such as SAS, Stata, R, Python, and Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Preferences will be given to those with web/data scrapping experiences and/or those with prior experiences with financial research databases such as CRSP, Compustat, and other databases under the WRDS system

Additional Information:

Graduate students are subject to background checks.

$20/hour

Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act)

The Student Right to Know and Campus Security Act was passed in 1990 and was amended in 1998 to form the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. This law requires that certain institutions of higher education distribute to all current students and employees a copy of the required report, and to all prospective students and employees a summary of what is contained in the yearly report. The report is available on the Internet and may be downloaded and printed with Adobe Reader 5.0 or higher software.
