Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) seeks a dedicated Research Assistant to support the Injury and Violence Prevention Lab within the Surgery department. You will assist in implementing research protocols, collecting data, and reviewing literature to advance violence prevention projects.

Responsibilities include data entry, preliminary analysis, coordinating with external partners, and contributing to publications and presentations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work with faculty, staff and students from diverse backgrounds.
• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Science, or related field.
• Prior research experience in violence prevention or related field desirable.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and statistical software (SPSS/R).
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support research protocols implementation, data collection and literature reviews.
• Collect data via surveys, focus groups, and semi-structured interviews.
• Enter, clean and preliminarily analyze data using statistical software.
• Coordinate with external agencies and stakeholders for intervention scheduling.
• Assist in manuscript preparation and conference materials.
