This position will be filled at the rank of Research Assistant Professor or Research Associate Professor depending on the candidate’s qualifications. This position will be fully funded by a current 3-year project on the topic of acoustical oceanography. The project may be optionally renewed for an additional 2-year period. Funding for this position beyond this project will be contingent upon the candidate obtaining externally sponsored research funding to support their salary.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop a nationally and internationally recognized research program with an emphasis on underwater acoustic propagation. Applicants should have an excellent sustained record of obtaining external research funding, and preferably a strong track record of advising and mentoring graduate students and post-doctoral scholars. Applicants should have a demonstrated record of scholarship through publications in journals and presentation at conferences and workshops.
