Job description

The Sensory Questions in Development (SQUID) Lab at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine is hiring a full-time research assistant (Professional Rater I) to work on ongoing studies of infant and child neurodevelopment. The SQUID Lab, led by Dr. Rebecca Schwarzlose, investigates the neural bases and clinical relevance of sensory over-responsivity and other sensory challenges using functional MRI and behavioral assessments. The lab is jointly affiliated with the Psychiatry Department and the interdisciplinary Neuroimaging Laboratories (NIL) Research Center at Wash U School of Medicine.

Main responsibilities for the position include administering fMRI sessions and behavioral assessments with participants ages birth to 14 years, assisting with screening, scheduling, and organizational tasks, and assisting with neuroimaging data processing and analysis.

SQUID Lab is part of a highly collaborative research group that values conducting rigorous and open science as well as mentoring and training. This is the perfect position for recent grads or post‑baccs looking to apply to graduate or medical school. Dr. Schwarzlose has a history of providing quality mentorship, with prior mentees learning extensive research and professional skills, contributing to (or leading) publications, and going on to graduate programs.
