Bachelors of Health Sciences Program Active Lab - Understanding physical activity behavior in Kansas City


Job Description


The Active Lab in the School of Nursing and Health Studies has been awarded several grants to support community-based physical activity research initiatives. To successfully measure physical activity in these studies, we utilize Garmin accelerometer watches. We are seeking an individual to support the technical aspects of this work that will allow us to make large-scale data extractions from the Garmin API.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop system to pull data from Garmin API
  2. Clean, organize, and manage Garmin data
  3. Conduct basic data analysis using Garmin and other physical activity data
  4. Assist in preparing reports summarizing data extraction and findings
  5. Other duties as assigned

This is a part-time, non-benefit eligible, unranked academic position. Position will average 20 hours per week from June 1, 2025 through July 31, 2025.


Qualifications


Bachelor's degree required.

A background in Computer Science and/or experience with APIs is preferred.


Anticipated Hiring Range


The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $20.00.
