Job Description

The Research Assistant/Lab Manager for the DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine ( DCOM ) at Lincoln Memorial University ( LMU ) – Knoxville ( LMU - DCOMK ) is a full-time position responsible for the day to day management and oversight of the Research laboratories. This person will also assist with coordination of organizational aspects, execution of clinical trials, technical measures and duties as assigned to serve the needs of Faculty & students participating in research at DCOM at LMU -Knoxville.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in biology or related field; *Prior experience in a research laboratory setting.

Coordinate with the campus safety officer on rules, regulations, record keeping and storage of chemicals associated with the DCOM -Knoxville Research Center

Assist in maintaining day to day usage and responsibilities for the Laboratory Spaces and associated areas at the research building

Assist in performing experiments using techniques such as ELISA , bacterial culture, microscopy, PCR , flow cytometry, and maintenance of cell lines in culture

Preparation of media, solutions, and reagents, routine autoclave sterilization, periodic cleaning of equipment and refrigerators

Provide support and/or assistance for manuscript and grant writing as appropriate
