Job summary

Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL) is seeking a Test Assembly Research Assistant to support layout, production, and quality control of large-scale English language tests. You will transfer content into InDesign templates, help create test booklets, and ensure accessibility and printing standards.

A bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least two years of experience are required, along with strong InDesign and MS Office skills. Collaborative, standards-driven team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Education, Applied Linguistics, or related field.
• At least two years of experience contributing to production of educational or assessment materials.
• Proficiency with Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assemble and lay out test content in Adobe InDesign following templates and style guides.
• Assist in creating and maintaining test booklets and ancillary materials in print and digital formats.
• Review test materials for accessibility and WCAG compliance, including alternate text.
• Support quality control procedures, revise materials, and maintain revision histories.
• Maintain item databases and support documentation of procedures and standards.
