The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Inc. seeks a Research Assistant I to perform research and provide laboratory support in the En Route & Critical Care Department.

The position is located at NMRC in Silver Spring, MD, joining a team that supports collaborative projects with senior staff. Responsibilities include assisting with experiments, collecting samples, maintaining records, and contributing to data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific field required.
• 0–2 years of experience preferred.
• US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with research projects and contribute to experimental design.
• Collect samples, maintain records, and analyze data.
• Support surgical setups and animal handling under supervision, including anesthesia and post-operative care.
• Maintain detailed surgical and laboratory records and assist in literature searches.
• Prepare reagents, manage inventory, and ensure a safe lab environment.
• Present data at meetings and assist with manuscript drafting when appropriate.
