The Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a Research Assistant I for Dr. Xie's lab. Dr. Zhongcong Xie, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Anesthesiology at UTHealth Houston (McGovern Medical School). He serves as the Co-Director of the Center for Aging and Cognitive Dysfunction and Vice President for Translational Perioperative Research and Innovation. His clinical focus supports general OR and obstetric anesthesia. Internationally recognized, his research investigates perioperative neurocognitive disorders and Alzheimer's-related biomarkers. Position Summary: The Research Assistant I, under general supervision, conducts basic/ translational research which may include animal work and other activities according to research protocol. Research activities may include some or all of the following: handling biological samples, laboratory experiments and activities, and data collection.
