Job summary

Auburn University invites applications for a research support role to assist researchers in planning, maintaining and completing projects that advance knowledge in our fields. You will help develop proposals, perform routine experiments, collect and analyze data, and document results for publication or presentation.

The position may involve supervising students and coordinating logistics, with substitutions allowed for experience based on education. Limited Term assignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in content specific to area of research.
• Level II requires 2 years of experience in research practices and protocols.
• Level III requires 4 years of experience in research practices and protocols.
• Job related licensure may be required for specific positions.
• Substitutions allowed for experience: Education can substitute for experience at 1 year per year of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the development of project proposals, plans and protocols.
• Conducts routine or fundamental experiments, investigations and/or studies related to programs and projects in pursuit of new knowledge, techniques and concepts.
• Assists with logistical considerations to include equipment, materials, and labor needs.
• Collects data/samples related to others' research and in routine cases.
• Records, compiles, processes and analyzes data/samples.
• Documents results and observations in writing as well as presenting results to others.
• May assist in the preparation of research results for publication or presentation at conferences to include assisting in literature reviews and assisting in the writing of results and discussions.
• May instruct students and/or supervise others' research in area of expertise.
