The mission of the CHA Center for Mindfulness and Compassion is to enhance health and well-being by integrating mindfulness and compassion into healthcare and our communities. CMC is affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and has multiple clinical trials funded by the National Institutes of Health and by private foundations, including studies of mindfulness- based programs, compassion-based programs, technology-assisted meditation, mechanistic neuroimaging studies, and an internal family systems research program.

CMC’s current studies focus on PTSD/trauma, migraines, pain, depression, anxiety, grief, and substance use disorders.

Position Overview:

Under general direction, the Research Assistant supports senior research assistants and investigators by conducting research tasks, assisting with study recruitment, and managing administrative operations.

This position will support an NIH-funded R01 study investigating the impact of an online Mindful Behavior Change program on adults with heart failure. This study is conducted in collaboration with Boston College and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct phone interviews with research study participants.
• Support and track study recruitment and data collection efforts.
• Assist with online group-based interventions on video conference platforms by tracking attendance, troubleshooting technology, and assessing intervention fidelity.
• Perform literature searches, prepare bibliographies, create tables, graphs, and presentations.
• Provide general administrative support and assist with preparations for large research meetings.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in the social sciences (equivalent relevant experience may be substituted).
• Competencies: Strong writing, typing, editing, organizational, and interpersonal skills with high attention to detail. Google Workspace experience is strongly preferred, and general proficiency with computers is required.
