Bucknell University seeks a part‑time Research Assistant in the Biomedical Engineering Lab. The person in this role assists in research processes, working in the lab to analyze samples and perform experiments. Responsibilities include writing, development, and editing of protocols; maintaining lab facilities and ongoing operations; collaborating with facilities personnel, fellow lab coordinators, faculty, and students; coordinating with outside vendors for ordering and delivery of new instruments, equipment, supplies, chemicals, laboratory gases, and minor equipment; and advising students on project or product design with emphasis on safety principles and regulatory standards. Duties also cover tasks that ensure smooth laboratory operations.
Reporting directly to the Biomedical Engineering Department Chair, this part‑time, 20 hours/week, 52 weeks/yr position is eligible for limited benefits. The position is donor‑funded for two years and may be renewed pending additional funding and departmental need.
Work Setting: On campus, in person Work Schedule: 20 hours per week; 52 weeks/yr
17.16–21.45 per hour. The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate’s credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship. All candidates must be authorized to work in the US without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
