Job summary

Bon Appétit Management Company is seeking a part‑time Research Assistant (Admin Assistant) to support research cycles remotely. You will pull consumer dining data, track wellness and dining trends, and organize references with sources.

You’ll maintain the research library in Notion, create Canva visuals for decks, and coordinate project intake calls while updating status in the Notion hub.

Qualifications

• Prior 1+ year in research (market, consumer, academic, journalism, or trends).
• Experience compiling data into shareable references with sources.
• Ability to create simple visuals and charts for team deliverables.

• Location: (REMOTE) Bon Appetit Management Company - 201 Redwood Shores Parkway, Suite 175, Redwood City, California 94065 Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Part Time Schedule: Monday to Friday. Hours to fluctuate with research cycle. More details upon interview.
• Requirement: Previous 1+ year of research (market, consumer, academic, journalism, or trends) via work or coursework.
• Pay Range: $20.00 per hour to$30.00 per hour.
• Additional Job Duties:
• Pull consumer dining data from industry databases (Mintel, YPulse, Morning Consult, Nielsen IQ, McKinsey) by generation and region for quarterly regional analyses and the annual State of Diners report
• Track emerging wellness, flavor, and dining trends across food publications, industry trade press, podcasts, Substack, and social platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Reddit), and share standout finds with the team
• Compile cited data points into a reference file for each active project, and fact‑check that every recommendation in the final deliverable traces back to a source
• Maintain the team's research library in Notion: add new reports as they are released, tag them by region, generation, and theme, and archive outdated sources
• Build charts and data visuals in Canva for team decks, and maintain Canva templates for recurring project types
• Schedule intake calls when regional and operations teams submit project request forms, and update project status and materials in the Notion project hub

Summary: Responsible for clerical functions and administrative support of food service programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Answer telephones and direct inquiries in a professional and client centric manner.
• Assist management staff in preparing confidential employment and labor relations documents, including but not limited to proposed disciplinary notices.
• Assist with staffing, including finding staff when employees call out on short notice.
• Work effectively and maintain good working relationships with co‑workers, school personnel, administrators, student's parents and Supervisor.
• Complete and maintain accurate and up to date records of students eligible for free and reduced priced lunches if applicable.
• Enter weekly cash sales and meal counts using computer.
• Perform daily bank deposit reconciliation.
• Process vendor invoices for payment - using computer, making sure addition is correct and checking item prices against bid specifications, making sure there is no discrepancy in pricing.
• Prepare monthly state claim form for reimbursement.
• Assist in preparation of end of month financial reports.
• Attend in‑service and/or safety meetings as required.
• Maintain clean and safe work environment; ability to perform job safely.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
