***Remote Opportunity***

The Research Assistant supports financial analysts, auditors, and managers by gathering, analyzing, and organizing data related to operations. This position plays a vital role in supporting audit readiness, financial reporting, and compliance with federal financial management regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong research and analytical skills and a foundational understanding of federal government finance or accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and data collection to support financial operations and audit initiatives.
• Assist in compiling documentation for audit readiness and financial statement reviews.
• Maintain organized records of financial transactions, internal controls, and supporting documentation.
• Support data analysis tasks including reconciliation, trend analysis, and financial discrepancy research.
• Contribute to the preparation of reports, spreadsheets, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Help track audit findings, remediation efforts, and corrective action plan progress.
• Coordinate with client staff, contractors, and external auditors to obtain required documentation or clarifications. Monitor changes to DoD financial regulations and summarize impacts to general funds.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Business Management/Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Internship or prior experience in a government, military, or audit environment.
• Familiarity with Army or DoD financial systems (e.g., GFEBS).
