Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ seeks a Research Assistant (Limited Tenure 1-Year) to perform research laboratory support, maintain equipment and database, and assist with general lab duties.

This role requires a high school diploma with coursework in math and sciences, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask. Excel experience is preferred; the position is non-sponsored and non-F-1 STEM OPT eligible. Full-time schedule, 80 hours per pay period.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma with coursework in mathematics and relevant sciences.
• Must have previous work experience that demonstrates organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
• Experience with Excel software is preferred.
• Requires manual dexterity, accurate typing, and good communication skills.
• Must be able to prioritize and adjust to changes in work volume.

Responsibilities

• Performs various support functions in research laboratory using proper procedures to avoid the risk of laboratory-acquired infection or sample-to-sample contamination.
• Maintains and cleans equipment and the facility; maintains and restocks supplies; and maintains computer database.
• Works under direct supervision. Attention to detail is essential while dealing with multiple tasks. Flexibility is important in adjusting to frequent changes in work volume.
