The Research Assistant at Columbia University in the City of New York will work at the Sergievsky Center/Taub Institute on memory and aging studies. The incumbent will conduct telephone and in-person interviews and assessments of study participants.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
The Research Assistant will work at the Sergievsky Center/Taub Institute in a study of memory, aging and Alzheimer's disease among racially and ethnically diverse adults. The incumbent will perform telephone and in-person interviews and assessments of study participants.
Conduct standardized participant interviews to collect medical, family, and research-related history information in accordance with study protocols and under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.
Administer assessments of participants' everyday functioning and neuropsychological performance, and assist with the identification and recruitment of research participants for ongoing studies, including brain donation initiatives.
Assist with the informed consent process for minimal-risk research studies by evaluating participant understanding in accordance with approved study procedures and obtaining informed consent under the direction of the Principal Investigator and in compliance with Institutional Review Board policies and regulations.
Collect biological specimens from research participants and perform phlebotomy procedures when appropriately trained and authorized. Process, prepare, label, document, store, and track biological samples in accordance with study protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain and manage research data by scoring assessment protocols, entering and validating study data, performing quality assurance and data cleaning activities, organizing and maintaining research records, and preparing reports, summaries, and presentations of study data for research staff and investigators.
Support day-to-day research operations by preparing, copying, scanning, organizing, and maintaining study materials and documentation, coordinating research-related records, and performing other duties as assigned to support the successful conduct of research activities.
Supervision: All duties are performed under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and senior research staff.
