Job summary

Overview

Research Assistant role at Texas A&M AgriLife Research.

Responsibilities
  • Mouse colony maintenance (breeding, genotyping, injections, record keeping).
  • Perform RNA/DNA extractions, processing, and analytical methods (including qPCR and genomic library preparations).
  • Perform cell and embryo culture.
  • Assist other laboratory members and technical staff in the design, planning, and coordinating of experiments in support of various research projects.
  • Use computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, and technical evaluation of research experiments and detailed records of data.
  • Order and receive laboratory supplies and maintain inventory.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Oversee laboratory safety.
  • Assist the principal investigator and other laboratory staff with preparing reports, figures, invoices, cataloging records and other documents.
  • Assists undergraduate and/or graduate students and other laboratory, technical or field staff involved in research.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Required Education And Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
