Job summary

Zoetis is seeking a Research Animal Technician to provide daily care and welfare for laboratory animals at the Animal Research Center. The role supports study activities, specimen collection, and adherence to SOPs, study protocols, and biosafety requirements.

You will monitor animal health, maintain accurate records, operate equipment like incubators and cage washers, and participate in audits and IACUC activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with relevant animal-care experience; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Prior experience working with animals is required; poultry experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to accurately complete documentation and maintain records.
• Basic computer skills including Word and Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new procedures, equipment, and technical skills.
• Ability to adhere to biosecurity, biosafety, animal welfare, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily animal husbandry and care to maintain health, welfare, and research quality.
• Monitor animal health and report concerns to management and veterinary staff.
• Support research studies and biodevice testing activities.
• Perform and assist with technical procedures, sample collection, body weights, necropsies.
• Operate equipment like cage washers, incubators, hatchers, and isolation cages.
• Conduct euthanasia per guidelines and documentation requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and review study data for accuracy.
