The R&D Lab Technician is an entry-level contributor that works to support research projects, quality control of tile products, manufacturing process improvement and evaluation of raw materials. This role will be responsible for executing test work, participating in experiments, maintaining lab equipment, and collaborating with the R&D team to achieve project objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:

• · Perform a variety of established lab tests, including quality control tests for various products and materials.
• · Inspect product samples to ensure quality standards are met.
• · Monitor equipment or processes and report problems to the supervisor. Ensure proper working conditions of equipment to ensure quality standards are met.
• · Follow standard operating procedures.
• · Keep area safe, clean, and organized.
• · Performs other duties as needed.

Required Experience and Education:
· High school diploma required.0-2 years relevant experience preferred.

· Able to set up, run and interpret results from a wide variety of laboratory test equipment.

Competencies
· Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.

· Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

· High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products preferred.

· Ability to lift and move cartons of tile products weighing up to 70 lbs.

· Willingness to work in range of environments including: laboratory, office, warehouse and pilot plant.
