A leading organisation is seeking a Research and Development Engineer to join their Infusion Preparation and Delivery (IPD) platform team. This role focuses on the development and lifecycle management of medical device products, requiring more than 80% onsite presence in Brea, CA.

The successful candidate will apply engineering principles to solve technical challenges and contribute to product design, development, and design control processes. Responsibilities include developing technical plans, conducting analytical and empirical feasibility studies, and creating test methods to verify and validate subsystems and systems. The position also involves transferring designs to manufacturing and providing documentation to support global regulatory filings.

Collaboration is key, as the engineer will work within a cross-functional team to plan, develop, modify, implement, and support IPD products. The role requires leading and supporting projects, defining requirements, developing and executing test protocols, writing reports, and resolving test or design issues. Strong leadership, verbal, and written communication skills are essential.

Candidates must hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering, with at least five years of relevant experience, or three years plus an advanced degree. Experience with medical device design control processes and documentation is required. Proficiency in SolidWorks or an equivalent CAD tool is necessary, along with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to work independently with moderate guidance, as well as collaborate effectively with teams across marketing, sales, clinical, regulatory, medical affairs, quality, and manufacturing functions.
