We are looking for a Research and Developer Engineering Technician for our client in Irvine, CA.

Job Title: Research and Developer Engineering Technician

Job Location: Irvine, CA

Job Type: Contract

Pay Range: $32.15/hr - $37.07/hr

Responsibilities:
  1. Support a wide range of engineering activities such as testing, check-out, modification, fabrication, and assembly; may formulate and propose technical solutions.
  2. Perform complex work using drawings, diagrams, instructions, layouts, or plans to test, check out, and troubleshoot systems.
  3. Maintain equipment, including preventive maintenance, calibration, and services.
  4. Operate lab equipment, including setup, cleanup, breakdown, and re-assembly.
  5. Collect, document, and analyze test data.
  6. Perform operational tests, identify failure modes, and propose solutions.
  7. Validate test methods for equipment and product designs.
  8. Train and guide lower-level employees on procedures and provide feedback to engineers.
  9. Build prototypes and prepare feasibility test units, samples, or chemical solutions.
  10. Design and build simple fixtures using sketches or CAD.
  11. Create and modify drawings and procedures for fixtures, equipment, or processes.
  12. Initiate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
Required Skills:
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Problem-solving, root cause analysis, and good documentation practices.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and CAD software.
  • Understanding of lab equipment and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and understand procedures, drawings, and schematics.
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques.
  • Ability to draft technical documents and adhere to safety and quality guidelines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent, or technical degree/certificate with 4 years of experience in R&D Lab or medical device field.
  • 6 years of related experience required.
