Airswift has identified a Research Analytic Chemist for an initial one-year contract in Weston, Michigan. The role requires hands-on analytical work using key instrumentation and collaborative support for site personnel.

Qualifications

• Experience with OpenLab CDS, Version 2.8.
• Proficiency with GC (Agilent): Direct Inject, Headspace, SPME, MS.
• Proficiency with LC (Agilent): UV-Vis, ELSD, MS.
• Familiarity with additional analytical systems as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily analytical laboratory work and support general analyses.
• Collaborate with lab and site personnel to meet analytical needs.
• Adjust priorities quickly when analytical problems arise.
• Perform routine analyses using laboratory instrumentation.

Airswift has been tasked by one of our major clients to find a Research Analytic Chemist to work for initially One Year contract in Weston, Michigan.

Work Schedule: 5/40; Job Type: W2 contract (One Year with possibility for extension).

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily analytical laboratory work and provide support for general analytical questions.
• Collaborate with laboratory and site personnel to support analytical needs.
• Quickly adjust priorities and objectives when problems requiring analytical support arise.
• Perform routine analyses using applicable laboratory instrumentation and analytical systems.
• Learn and perform routine analyses on systems where previous hands-on experience may be limited.
• Analyze and summarize results clearly and efficiently.
• Prepare written reports communicating analytical results to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge.

Required Experience & Technical Skills

• Experience with OpenLab CDS, Version 2.8.
• High proficiency with at least two of the following analytical technologies and systems:
• Gas Chromatography (GC) – Agilent: Direct Inject, Headspace, SPME with FID and Mass Spectrometry
• Liquid Chromatography (LC) – Agilent: UV-Vis, ELSD, and MS FT-IR / FT-NIR – Thermo Fisher TGA / DSC – Waters System Metrohm Titrators with OMNIS software: Dosimat and Karl Fischer
• Ability to learn routine analytical procedures on systems outside of existing areas of expertise.
• Ability to clearly summarize analytical results in written reports.

Work Environment

Laboratory-based position. 100% onsite.
