Science and Technology Policy Institute (STPI), an IDA-operated FFRDC, conducts rigorous, method-driven research at the intersection of science, technology, and public policy for federal sponsors including OSTP. Our team analyzes evolving S&T policy questions and informs high-level decision-makers.

Staff collaborate across disciplines, mentor early-career researchers, and contribute to cross-cutting policy domains such as energy, IT, AI, and innovation. U.S.

Qualifications

• Ability to conduct independent, rigorous research applying defined methodologies.
• Proven ability to publish findings and present to sponsors and policy audiences.
• Translate complex technical material into terms useful to non-technical policymakers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent, method-driven research on assigned S&T policy questions.
• Prepare written reports and briefs for OSTP and federal sponsors.
• Respond to sponsor tasking and support federal advisory bodies.
