Job Summary:

Crossing Hurdles is a recruitment firm that connects top candidates with leading AI research labs to assist in developing advanced AI systems. They are seeking a Research Analyst to review academic documents, analyze AI-generated content, and collaborate with research leads to improve output quality.

Responsibilities:

• Review long-form academic or policy-style documents and create high-quality prompts and reference answers

• Analyze and edit AI-generated responses for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with source material

• Spot gaps, inconsistencies, and misinterpretations in AI model outputs and suggest improvements

• Collaborate with Mercor coordinators and AI lab research leads to refine outputs

• Work independently and asynchronously on a flexible schedule

Qualifications:

Required:

• Professional experience in ANY of the following roles: research analyst, editor, technical writer, academic editor, content reviewer, legislative analyst, reading-comprehension specialist, assessment/curriculum/instructional designer

• Proven ability to create Q&A, summaries, or problem-solving tasks from long-form content (up to 90 pages)

• Strong skills in deep reading, synthesis, and analytical review of dense or technical material

• Demonstrated expertise in fact-checking, editing, and validating nuanced written content

• Excellent written communication with a focus on clarity, structure, and detail

• Access to a desktop or laptop computer (screen-sharing enabled; no Chromebooks)
