This title is governed by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission; meaning that a candidate for the position will be placed as a provisional employee. At a later date the candidate will be required to take an examination administered by the Civil Service Commission. Candidates must score and rank high enough on this examination in order to remain in the position as a permanent employee.
Under direction, performs the work involved in the collection, compilation, tabulation, and maintenance of data; does related work as required.
The work performed in this position involves primarily the gathering, collating or classifying of information, the tabulation of data collected and the reporting or carrying out of a prescribed course of action in relation to the information gathered. It does not involve the analysis or interpretation of data or the application of scientific knowledge to such information in order to discover facts and/or development, knowledge, concepts, or interpretation, nor does it involve examining and evaluating data in order to present alternative courses of action on the basis of the information compiled.
Experience: One (1) year of experience in the collection and recording of significant data and the compilation of this information into relevant reports, graphs, and charts.
Applicants who do not possess the required experience may substitute the completion of 30 college credits for the work experience.
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
