Research Advancement Administration Principal

The McCain Institute is a nonpartisan organization inspired by Senator John McCain and his family’s dedication to public service. We are part of Arizona State University and based in Washington, D.C. The McCain Institute seeks a full-time Research Advancement Manager reporting to the Executive Director. This role will support programs with funding and public and private prospect research, proposal preparation, and post-award management. Acting as a liaison across ASU, the manager will collaborate with the Office of Research and Sponsored Project Administration (ORSPA) to ensure compliance with sponsor and ASU policies, providing expert guidance to support McCain Institute.

This position is located in Washington, D.C. and offers eligibility for a hybrid work schedule; however, fully remote arrangements may also be considered.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support programs with funding and public and private prospect research.
  2. Prepare proposals and manage post-award processes.
  3. Act as a liaison with ASU's Office of Research and Sponsored Project Administration.
  4. Ensure compliance with sponsor and ASU policies.
  5. Provide expert guidance to support the McCain Institute.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Experience in research advancement or related field.
  2. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  3. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
