Position Overview

The Division of Research Administration Services (RAS) at EPC is seeking a full-time Research Admin, Post-Award II or III. This role supports EPC’s research goals by providing excellent research administration services to faculty, ensuring they are customer-focused, compliant, cost-effective, and continuously improving.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, organized, dependable, detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and passionate about research administration. You should be adaptable to a fast-paced environment, possess excellent time management and multitasking skills, and be able to tailor communication to meet customer needs. This position reports directly to the Post-Award Manager.

Responsibilities
  1. Support daily activities of the Post-Award team.
  2. Monitor workload and escalate concerns to the RAS director.
  3. Provide guidance to team members.
  4. Coordinate with the RAS Director on pre-award activities and workload management.
  5. Ensure high-quality customer service to faculty and departments.
  6. Facilitate collaboration between pre- and post-award teams.
  7. Manage post-award activities for grants and contracts, including financial review, reconciliation, reporting, and closeout.
  8. Interact with faculty to provide support and ensure compliance.
  9. Create reports and define account parameters upon award acceptance.
  10. Set up awards in financial systems and distribute information.
  11. Coordinate payroll adjustments and review expenditures.
  12. Forecast future expenditures and manage compliance timelines.
  13. Communicate regularly with PIs regarding budgets and expenses.
  14. Prepare and submit financial reports and invoices.
  15. Assist with non-financial reports and award modifications.
  16. Manage effort reports and effort certification processes.
  17. Transfer awards and close funded projects appropriately.
Post-Award III Specific Activities
  • Ensure adherence to policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to solve problems and provide guidance.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or equivalent combination.
  • Knowledge of federal research grant and contract regulations.
  • Preferred: Experience with PeopleSoft Financial System.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience at a large research institution with complex awards.
  • NIH post-award management experience.
  • Strong service orientation and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Support for a culture of research administration and flexibility to adapt to change.

Additional Details

This position can be performed remotely with occasional visits to Emory locations. Business hours follow Eastern Time. Emory does not accept applicants from NJ, AK, HI, U.S. Territories, or outside the U.S.
