Michigan State University College of Nursing is seeking a Research Administrator to provide independent, complex professional support to faculty and PhD students in pre-award and post-award administration, project closeout, and research compliance.
The role includes budget and grant development assistance, coordination with multiple MSU offices, and management of subcontract communications and reporting. A weekly onsite presence is required with remote work options.
The College of Nursing is seeking applications for a Research Administrator. This position will provide independent, complex professional support to Nursing faculty and PhD students related to pre-award administration, post-award administration, project close out, and research and compliance.
Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
This position will require a weekly onsite presence of at least two days per week with the other work days being performed via a remote work schedule.
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-yearcollege degree in business administration, finance, or a research-related field; up to six months of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in researchadministration including the area of pre- or post-award processes, or related field such asregulatory administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The job also requires: completion of Essentials of Research Administration (MSU certificate) or equivalent within one year of hire.
More than three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in research administration including the area of pre- or post-award processes, or related field such as regulatory administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working with NIH proposals; attendance at KC system trainings; experience with
Microsoft Suite including Microsoft Outlook; demonstrated ability to multi-task with high level
of accuracy in a deadline-driven environment; knowledge of University policies and procedures;
experience with EBS systems; effective analytical, verbal, and written communication skills;
strong interpersonal and organizational skills; completion of MSU’s Essentials of Research
Administration certificate series; demonstrated ability to problem solve, think creatively,
function as a team member, and adapt to change; ability to prioritize tasks and work
independently with frequent interruptions
