Job description

POSITION: Resale Technician

SEASON: February - April

LOCATION: Port Hueneme, California

SECTOR/DEPT: Six Mile, LLC Antarctica

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Responsible for execution of USAP auction operations, including unloading shipping containers and staging auction material, website management, lotting and cataloging, tracking, and reporting sales reports to Property.
  2. Operation of propane-powered warehouse forklift.
  3. Regular use of cargo straps, banding, pallet jacks, and power tools.
  4. Position requires constant physical activity, including bending, consistently lifting and carrying 50 - 70 lbs, reaching, and gripping.
  5. Agrees with and adheres to the Standard Operating Procedures and tasking responsibilities of the Waste department.
  6. Able to work in a team unit composed of diverse personalities.
  7. Displays self-motivation in physically challenging and atypical work environment; position is comprised of approximately 70% outdoor tasking.
  8. Able to maintain flexibility and positive attitude in a dynamic, fast-paced work setting.
  9. Performs duties in support of Operations Division metrics (as provided by supervisor).
  10. Supports the achievement of ASC metrics, whether metrics are directly or indirectly affected by this position's work activities.
  11. Complies with all ASC Environmental Health & Safety, and Quality Assurance, requirements and goals. Provides documentation to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
  12. Works to achieve ASC goals and contractual commitments.
  13. Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
  14. Perform other duties as required.
  15. Reports to Solid Waste Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Experience as Resale Technician at McMurdo Station.
  2. Equipment operating experience.
  3. Familiarity with power tools and machinery.
  4. Able to stand for up to 8 hours daily.
  5. Must be able to lift the safety regulation maximum and perform functions requiring repetitive motion.
  6. Must pass drug screen and background check.
  7. Able to deploy to Port Hueneme, California for length of contract.

PREFERRED:

  1. Previous Auction experience.
  2. Previous experience with Maximo database.

EDUCATION: High school education or GED.

CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: Valid Driver's License and passport valid for six months after end of contract.

OTHER: US citizenship or permanent residency required.

A prerequisite of employment for this position is to successfully gain a favorable Tier 1 - Elevated Background Investigation (EBI) result prior to deployment.
