Requisition # 1265 Made to Stock Machine Operator 2nd shift

Join Vermont Precision Tools, Inc. as a Made to Stock Machine Operator on the 2nd shift. This full-time, hourly, non-exempt role offers a shift differential of 10%, with potential overtime.

Job Overview

The Machine Operator in the Made to Stock Value Stream is responsible for producing precision gage pins with varying tolerances, materials, and finishes. The role involves setup, operation, troubleshooting of grinding machines, and ensuring product quality and conformance to specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and troubleshoot grinding machines and manually operated equipment.
  • Produce gage pins with diameters within close tolerances (from .00001 to .0002 inches).
  • Maintain surface finish quality and use measuring equipment for inspection.
  • Adjust manufacturing processes based on inspection results.
  • Maintain production levels and quality standards.
  • Rework or remake products that do not meet specifications.
  • Input data into internal computer systems daily.
  • Follow all safety, ergonomic, and company policies.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, perform basic math, and understand geometry and trigonometry.
  • Mechanical aptitude is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Windows and non-Windows formats.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
Additional Requirements
  • Satisfactory background check and drug screening required.
