Job summary

ACS Professional Staffing is seeking an on-site Requirements Management and Data Architecture Specialist for a full-time role in Richland, WA. The position focuses on developing, integrating, and lifecycle-managing project requirements and structured technical data across RM/PM/Asset systems.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in a technical field, strong RM experience, proficiency with Excel, and familiarity with databases and systems engineering.

  • Experience in technical/engineering/complex project environments is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated experience in requirements management.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data handling and presentation.
  • Ability to translate stakeholder needs into clear, actionable requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Python experience for automation/data processing preferred.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL concepts preferred.
  • Understanding of systems engineering and regulated development environments preferred.
  • Experience with at least one RM/PM/Asset mgmt platform (DOORS/Jama/Polarion) preferred.
  • Experience with at least one PM platform (Jira) preferred.
  • Experience with at least one asset mgmt platform (e.g., Hitachi Energy Asset Suite) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Maintain and organize requirements in a structured RM database.
  • Establish and manage traceability between requirements, design docs, test cases, and verification activities.
  • Collaborate with licensing, engineering, PM, and technical stakeholders to clarify expectations.
  • Support change management processes, including impact assessments and updates.
  • Generate requirements reports, traceability matrices, and performance metrics using established tools.
  • Develop methodologies for importing project data into RM/PM/Asset mgmt platforms.
  • Define data structures, mappings, and workflows for data consistency and usability.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure data governance and system integrations meet needs.

This Requirements Management and Data Architecture Specialist role will support the development, integration, and lifecycle management of project requirements and structured technical data. The role combines requirements management expertise with data architecture capabilities to ensure project information is accurately captured, maintained, and traceable across requirements, project management, and asset management systems.

This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.

  • Sick Leave: One hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked (sick leave can be used after 90 days of employment)

  • Working under supervisory direction, develop and implement methodologies for importing project data into requirements management, project management, and asset management platforms.
  • Assist in defining data structures, mappings, and workflows that improve data consistency, quality, and usability across systems.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure data governance practices are followed and that system integrations meet project needs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, data management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Prior experience working in technical, engineering, or complex project environments is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated experience in requirements management.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including organizing, analyzing, and presenting requirement datasets.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and translate stakeholder needs into clear, actionable requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Python programming language for automation, data processing, or requirements validation workflows preferred.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and structured query concepts preferred.
  • Understanding of systems engineering principles or regulated development environments preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one requirements management platform (e.g., IBM Rational DOORS, Jama Connect, Polarion) preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one project management platform (e.g., Atlassian Jira) preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one asset management platform (e.g., Hitachi Energy Asset Suite) preferred.
