Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure supplier-delivered products meet quality standards and to support the manufacturing floor. The role requires 3+ years in supplier or manufacturing quality and expertise with GD&T, ISO 9001, and quality systems.

The position is on-site in Pittsfield, MA, with responsibilities spanning supplier audits, RCCA, first article inspections, and RCCA-driven improvements to production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of supplier quality or manufacturing quality experience.
• Proficiency in reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions for conformance to requirements.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, GD&T, and quality management systems.
• Experience managing supplier documentation, FAIRs, and quality plans.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, qualify, and monitor suppliers for compliance with quality requirements.
• Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and corrective action follow-ups.
• Manage supplier nonconformances and drive RCCA.
• Support MRB activities and nonconformance disposition on the manufacturing floor.
• Participate in first article inspections and production readiness reviews.

Supplier Quality Engineer

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for ensuring supplier-delivered products and services meet GDMS quality standards, while also providing quality support to the manufacturing floor as needed.

• Six Sigma or CQE certification

• Evaluating, qualifying, and monitoring suppliers for compliance with quality requirements

• Managing supplier nonconformances and driving root cause/corrective action (RCCA)
• Supporting nonconformance disposition and MRB activities on the manufacturing floor
• Participating in first article inspections and production readiness reviews
