Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to develop manufacturing plans and strategies for products and processes. You will estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and recommend tooling and process requirements for new or existing lines, leveraging DFMs, lean methods, and Six Sigma to drive quality and efficiency.

The successful candidate will apply knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, and production equipment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering plus 5+ years experience; or Master’s with 3+ years experience
• Leads quality initiatives using six sigma to determine root cause and corrective action
• Proficient use/understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) concepts and theories
• Proficient understanding of lean techniques and statistical analysis

The seasoned, experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer we seek will develop manufacturing engineering plans and strategies for specific products and processes and estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. What you bring to the table:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, a related specialized area or field (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
• Effectively leads quality initiatives using six sigma methodology to determine extent of non-conformance root cause, and corrective action
• Fully proficient use and understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) concepts, principles, and theories
• Fully proficient understanding lean techniques and statistical analysis
