Job summary

Planned Parenthood Los Angeles seeks highly skilled full-time Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, or Certified Nurse Midwives to see our diverse patient population at Jones Health Center with potential additional sites in LA County.

The clinician will join the Patient Services team, perform exams, diagnose and treat, educate, counsel, and serve as a medical resource for licensed and non-licensed staff; emphasis on reproductive health and family planning services per MS&Gs.

Qualifications

• CA license as CNM/NP/PA required.
• Current furnishing license (for NP).
• BLS & ACLS certification from American Heart Association.
• Master’s/Graduate degree required.
• National Board Certification required.
• Medi-Cal Provider application must be completed.
• NPI number required.
• DEA license preferred.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and at least 2 Saturdays per month; may be required to work 3 Saturdays.
• Must be available to take rotating on-call duties; minimum 1 weeklong shift per year.
• Excellent customer service; able to work independently and as a team.
• Ability to communicate with patients, staff and volunteers.
• Mature judgment, initiative, critical thinking, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and implement written instructions.
• Ability to relate to diverse communities.
• Maximize Health Center flow with Flow Facilitator.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
• Proficient in EHR documentation.
• Ability and willingness to travel within Los Angeles County.
• Reliable transportation; CA driver license and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide family planning services and training on MAB and PAB.
• Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic studies as permitted.
• Venipuncture, injections, IV insertions.
• Train or precept licensed health care professionals as needed.
• Act as a medical resource to non-licensed staff.
• Comply with agency medical protocols.
• Maintain productivity: minimum 3 visits/hour and 18 work units.
• Label, dispense, and prescribe birth control methods including IUDs/implants.
• Assist with colposcopy results and follow-up plans.
• Collaborate with clinical leadership as needed.
• Provide care per MS&Gs and health policy guidelines.
• Travel within LA County as required.
