Responsibilities
- Handle all registration functions related to patient admissions, emergency care, short stay, and outpatient services.
- Obtain and verify patient demographic information and insurance details.
- Secure required signatures and collect co-pays, deductibles, and deposits.
- Coordinate bed assignments, transfers, direct admits, and ER admits.
Qualifications
- Data entry and/or secretary/receptionist experience helpful.
- Up to 6 months of on-the-job training provided.
- Experience in customer service or healthcare environments is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills, clerical accuracy, and sound judgment.
- Ability to multitask and handle interruptions effectively.
- Good telephone manners, knowledge of medical terminology, and insurance familiarity are helpful.
