Job summary

PRA Group is seeking a data-focused professional to design and maintain data programming solutions for data quality and business rules analysis. The role involves building data workflows, validating data inputs/outputs, and creating visualizations to inform decision making.

Hybrid position: onsite 3 days per week. 1-3 years experience in data mining/analysis and BA/BS in STEM or quantitative field preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in STEM or quantitative field.
• Intermediate-level experience in Data Mining, Data Analysis, report building and SQL with strong data visualization capabilities.
• Experience creating dashboards with Power BI, Tableau or Qlik.
• Experience with Excel and GitHub preferred.
• 1-3 years of professional work experience.
• Ability to write SQL code for intermediate queries and to import/export data into SQL Server from various sources.

Responsibilities

• Provide data mining, cleaning, and data analysis using database programming/mining tools.
• Execution and troubleshooting of coding processes.
• Conduct data analysis to identify the impact of process changes.
• Enhance monitoring and control mechanisms to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Maintain documentation along with change management and testing documentation as required.
• Support existing dashboards for activity performance related to department processes.
• Research data issues and report and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist senior data leads in executing projects and ad-hoc requests.

Position Summary: Handles moderately complex issues and problems. Applies practical knowledge of principles and practices of area of specialty. Supports, but also leads simple to moderately complex projects and programs.

Designs, develops, implements, and maintains data programming solutions for data quality and business rules analysis, hypothesis testing, champion/challenger testing, and product or strategy decision advancements. Maintains a techical process expertise through understanding of the software solutions, technical steps, and underlying data used to execute the decisioning. Subject matter expert on the input and output of data to support any research or advancements. Programs for the desired workflow of data decisions and hypothesis testing. Maintains a quality and control aspect of the data execution used for decision making. Is able to build data visualizations to report and inform others what is occuring in the underlying data.

This is a hybrid position working onsite in our office 3 days per week.

Professional Experience:

• Intermediate-level experience in Data Mining, Data Analysis, Report building and SQL with strong data mining/data visualization capabilities
• Experience with creating dashboards using either Power BI, Tableau or Qlik
• Prefer someone with experience working with Excel and GitHub
• 1-3 years of professional work experience.
• Good understanding and curiosity regarding business as well as ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Education:BA/BS in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or quantitative field

Solid working experience with:

• Ability to write SQL code for intermediate query level functioning doing inner, left and right joins, etc.
• Importing/exporting data into SQL Server from various sources (text files, spreadsheets, Access DBs)
• Creating ODBC connections to SQL Server from Excel Spreadsheets or Access DBs so that end users can refresh reports directly in Excel or Access
• Creating/Modifying/Executing T-SQL Queries and Scripts
• Any experience with either Oracle or Microsoft Fabric is preferred
• Mining, cleaning, and managing large data sets and troubleshoot data issues identified
• Data preparation methods handling of missing data and general imputation

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide data mining, cleaning, and data analysis using database programming/mining tools.

• Support existing dashboards for activity performance as it relates to business processes being maintained by the department.
• Research data issues and report and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist other senior data leads in executing projects, ad-hoc request, or technical execution of changes when it comes to data or activities.

Salary Range:

$73,900.00 - $110,900.00

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, specific working location and market position. This posted salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, and PRA Group reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications and location of the selected candidate. In addition to base salary, PRA may offer additional benefits to include performance based bonus programs and/or equity programs depending on the position.
