Qualifications

The Reporting Bond Officer is a full-time, on-site position located in Batavia, OH.


REPORTING BOND/ELECTRONIC MONITORING


Full-Time


Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Special Services, this position requires skills in the areas of organization, knowledge of the criminal justice system, and case management. Work activities include supervision of misdemeanor offenders placed on electronically monitored house arrest/reporting bond and providing written information to the Court. The responsibilities of this position focus on monitoring misdemeanor offenders’ compliance on reporting bond and/or participation in a court-ordered electronically monitored house arrest program. This probation officer will be required to meet with offenders as needed, make collateral contacts, conduct home, field and work visits, and track offender compliance with the rules of reporting bond and the electronic monitoring program. Employee will be responsible identifying participant risks and needs through community based assessments, and coordinating services with the court, criminal justice agencies and the local correctional facility.


Perform all back up and additional duties assigned to the generalist Probation Officers including, but not limited to PSI investigations, mitigation reports, and perform other administrative duties. Additional duties will be assigned as needed by the Chief Probation Officer, Deputy Director and Coordinator of Special Services.


Employee must understand and follow county and departmental safety procedures, which includes handling of confidential information. Position requires moderate lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching and bending.


Qualifications


Applicants should possess a BA/BS in corrections, psychology, sociology or criminal justice related fields. Experience in criminal justice, law enforcement or surveillance; OPATA training preferred. Knowledge of basic office practices and procedures; ability to define problems, collect data, analyze the circumstances and draw appropriate conclusions; Windows based computer skills and capability to efficiently learn new department-specific computer software programs and equipment; and education, training and/or experience required to perform the duties required of this position. Employee must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
