Nexstar Media Group, Inc. distribution arm FOX 5 San Diego/KUSI News is seeking a multimedia journalist to report during the week and anchor weather on weekends. The role requires shooting, writing, and editing stories, plus producing for streaming and social platforms.

The candidate should excel in ad-lib storytelling, be digitally savvy, and bring 3–5 years of TV news reporting and weather anchor experience in a medium to large market. Flexibility to cover varied shifts is required.

Competenze

• B.A. or B.S. Degree preferably in journalism/communication or equivalent related experience
• Prefer 3–5 years TV news reporting and weather anchor experience in a medium to large market
• News videography, editing and livestreaming experience preferred

ROLE** : FOX 5 San Diego/KUSI News** duopoly is seeking a multimedia and multiplatform journalist to report during the week and anchor weather during the weekend. A successful applicant will have a proven ability to enterprise stories that connect with audiences across all devices and platforms. The candidate also needs to excel in ad-libbing, storytelling, and be digitally savvy. Thisposition requires the multimedia journalist to shoot, write,editvosotsand packages. A typical day could involve general assignment reporting with live shots or returning to station to weather anchor or host/produce or participate in live streaming programs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• B.A. or B.S. Degree preferably in journalism,communicationor equivalent related experience
• Prefer 3-5 years TV news reporting and weather anchor experience in a medium to large market

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must interact positively and productively with other employees and in the field
• Exceptional writing,grammarand spelling, technical formatting
• Excellent communication skillswith ability to ad-lib whenrequired
• Strong on-air presentation - must be credible,personableand engaging
• Excellent time management skills maintaining strong attention to detail
• Excellent editing skills withAdobe Premiere and video camera/newsphotography skills
• Ability to carry 25-30 pounds of equipment
• Flexible with schedule and willing to workadditionalhours or days or different shifts and holidays as required by news content
• Knowledge of WSI, Baron or similar weather forecasting system
• Must be able to accept constructive direction and feedback
• Compensation starting at $35/hour commensurate with experience and skill level.
