Base pay range

$65,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr

The New York Post’s Lifestyle team is seeking a sharp, plugged-in Lifestyle Reporter

(Tues-Sat) who lives and breathes the internet — someone with a keen eye for the buzzy, the bizarre, and the deeply human stories that drive conversation online. From viral TikTok trends to feel-good Facebook tales and everything in between, this reporter knows how to spot a story before it breaks — and write it fast, with flair. If you thrive in a high-speed newsroom and have a sixth sense for what will make readers click, we want to hear from you.

Note: The schedule for this role is Tuesday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Scour social media daily to surface compelling lifestyle and human interest stories before they trend
  • Deliver sharp, engaging copy quickly and accurately under tight deadlines
  • Consistently pitch and execute stories that are timely, clickable, and aligned with the Post’s voicex
  • Work with editors and photo/video teams to secure impactful visuals that elevate storytelling
  • Stay ahead of digital trends and emerging platforms to ensure fresh, forward-thinking content

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience as a digital reporter, ideally in a lifestyle/features capacity
  • Excellent news judgement, strong reporting skills and the ability to identify trending content before it pops
  • Ability to find fresh and compelling ways into trending entertainment, lifestyle and human-interest stories that fit The Post brand
  • A smart, lively writing style
  • Proficiency in WordPress or similar CMS, Photoshop and web analytics preferred
  • Some flexibility in scheduling, especially during awards and special events

Note: This role follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation of being on-site in the New York metro area four days per week (subject to change).
