Job description

Position Summary

The Rantec Repairs Service Manager’s primary responsibility is to ensure the business unit is meeting goals that contribute to the overall success of the Company. The position has a broad range of responsibilities; from establishing policies and procedure for the business segment; creating and implementing strategies to achieve targets; assuring that the day-to-day operations supporting the segment are operating effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures across functional lines relative to the repairs business.
  • Manage interfaces with customer services, quality, engineering, finance and supply chain departments as required.
  • Accurate interpretation of policies and procedures to provide a uniform approach to repairs.
  • Hold others accountable and ensure policies and procedures are followed consistently across the business.
  • Actively monitor business unit goals to ensure progress is made and goals are on track to reach desired outcome by set deadlines.
  • Lead efforts in supplier performance improvement based on scorecards and internal metrics.
  • Communicate expectation levels and vision to team members.
  • Motivate, encourage and train staff for high performance and general growth of the business unit.
  • Oversee a Repairs Administrator, ensuring day-to-day procedures are executed on time.
  • Devise new marketing strategies to increase product sales or reexamine and modify strategies that are not pushing the business unit to meet its goals.
  • Work well with flexible hours as required.
  • Work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, State and Federal Regulations.
  • Arrive to work on time and work each day as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This position requires access to our export‑controlled commodities, technical data, technology and services. These items are restricted under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) to U.S. Citizens, Lawful Permanent Residents of the U.S. and properly licensed foreign persons. Therefore, employment is contingent on compliance with ITAR regulations and successfully obtaining and maintaining the necessary export authorization license from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security, U.S. Department of State’s Office of Defense Trade Controls, or other applicable government agency.

Education / Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business.
  • 5+ years of supervision, manufacturing engineering and manufacturing/operations experience preferred.
  • Effective communication (verbal and written) with all levels of the business and ability to present to groups.
  • Use data to determine root causes of issues and drive corrective action.
  • Execute duties under pressure from deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to provide accurate concise management summary of status and information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Access and MRP/ERP systems.
Physical Requirements
  • Work within a factory environment, including moderate noise and chemical odors.
  • Move between sitting, standing and walking.
  • Lift up to 10 pounds consistently and up to 49 pounds periodically.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus with correction if needed.
  • Use required personal protective equipment (face mask, gloves, goggles, etc.), as required.
