Job summary

Paylocity in Huntsville, AL seeks a skilled Repair Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain electronics assemblies at the Huntsville Factory. You will use test equipment and schematics to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

The role requires reading schematics, soldering through-hole and surface-mount components, and documenting repairs in the tracking system. A HS diploma or GED with electronics experience is preferred, along with IPC/J-STD or IPC-A-610 certification.

Qualifications

• GED or HS diploma required; 2 years electronics experience preferred.
• IPC-J STD or IPC-A-610 certification preferred.
• Lead-free and fine-pitch soldering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and troubleshoot production failures to component level using schematics and test equipment.
• Perform rework including solder touchup and component replacement to ensure proper function.
• Document repairs in the tracking system and communicate issues with relevant teams.
• Collaborate with production, engineering and quality to ensure process improvements.

Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Repair Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction. If you have a strong technical background and a passion for problem-solving.

Position Summary:

The Repair Technician is a part of the Production Team at the Huntsville Factory. Through the use of various testing equipment, this position is responsible for trouble shooting and repair of component electronic assemblies, generation of reports, as well as assisting in identification and resolution of issues within the production process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Analyze and troubleshoot production failures to the component level using assembly schematics and various test equipment: Multi meters, oscilloscopes, and custom function test equipment.

• Perform rework including solder touchup and component replacement such that the assembly functions properly and meets specified requirements.
• Document rework that is performed in the tracking system.
• Communicates issues / trends with production, engineering, and quality departments as needed.
• All other duties as assigned by management to ensure the success of Futaba.

Experience and Educational Requirements:

• GED required. Prefer HS diploma and 2 years in electronics related work experience and/or training.
• J-Standard or IPC-A-610 certification.
• Lead free and fine pitch soldering experience preferred.
• Intermediate MS Office skills, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Ability Requirements:

• Reading Comprehension: Ability to read, comprehend and execute work instructions. Interpretation skills related to drawings, schematics, and bill of material (BOM).
• Soldering capabilities through whole and surface mount components.
• Verbal communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees and management.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
